Definition:The action or process of forgiving or being forgiven (Remission,Mercy,To stop feeling anger towards someone who has done wrong wrong,Stop blaming someone.)
THE GOD WHO FORGIVES
There are many examples of God’s forgiveness in the bible.
From the very beginning of salvation history God has been active in
forgiveness. The promise of Genesis 3:15, the story of Noah (primarily a
story of salvation rather than judgement – see Genesis 6:13), the
subsequent covenant with Noah (Genesis 8:21-22), and the story of
Abraham (Genesis 12) are all early examples of God’s determination to
save and restore his people into fellowship with him. So right from the
start the Bible presents us with a picture of a God who is actively involved
with his creation, and who takes the initiative in trying to make provision
for the healing of humanity’s broken relationship.
Here is a God who is not distant, but who chooses to reveal himself;
here is a God who is not so inscrutable that his subjects cannot predict
when he will be angry and when he will show mercy, but who presents
himself as a covenant God of promise, who will always keep the door of
relationship open yet will not hesitate to allow his judgement on evil to fall
on those who flout his commands.
The first on is Forgiveness of Sins
Forgiveness of Sins:
When you commit Sin and admit this to the Lord he will forgive you. Acknowledging your Sins and taking responsibility for what you have did wrong and admitting to the Lord. This is why Repenting is so important.
But if you try to cover you Sins like it’s mention inProverbs 28:13, you will not prosper. This means when you cover up all the wrong doing that you commit you will not be forgiven but if you forgive as God has forgiven you then you shall have mercy upon you.
When you tell your sins to the Lord he will make you as white as snow as it is said inIsaiah 1:18. When you keep that sin inside of you you will be scarlet and when you try to fix your own problems you will make them worse. Ask the Lord for his forgiveness and he will make you white as snow.
When you forsake your wicked ways you will be pardoned as it is written inIsaiah 55:7, it is written that when you turn/forsake your wicked ways that the Lord will have mercy on you and ABUNDANTLY pardon you.
Also when you CONFESS YOUR SINS he is faithful as written in 1 John 1:9. This means when you Confess your wrong doings to the Lord he will forgive you because you are being honest and not only will he forgive you but he will cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
Since, in order for this relationship to be maintained, provision needed to forgiveness in the old testament be made for the problem of sin which spoiled the divine-human
relationship, we are soon introduced to the concept of a God who is able
to forgive. While other deities occasionally, according to their whim,
showed mercy, there is nothing in the other ancient literature comparable
to the comprehensive Old Testament understanding of a forgiving God: a
God who doesn’t just show mercy or overlook wrongdoing at certain
times, but who actually initiates a cosmic plan of forgiveness and

The Second on is Forgiveness of Other’s trespasses
It is written that if you are offended by what someone said or did to you and you do not say anything to this person and allow this thing that they did to offend you and keep you upset with them you will show bitterness towards this person or persons.
It is not good to keep this bitterness with the person or person that offended you. As it it written inMatthew 6:14that if you forgive them of their trespasses your heavenly father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive them of their trespasses then your Father will not forgive you.
When someone offends you as written in Matthew 18:15-35 you are suppose to go to to them in PRIVATE. In Private you tell this person the faults that they have done towards you and if this person shall hear you then you have just gained a brother or sister.
Also when someone forgives you of your trespasses and you turn to not forgive someone else of their trespasses against you then you will not be forgiven for your trespasses as written inMatthew 18:34-35 .
In Mark 11:25-26 it is written to forgive as your father in heaven forgives you and if you do not forgive you will not be forgiven by our father in heaven. Also in Ephesians 4:32 be kind to one another and to be tender-hearted to forgive one another as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Over All in closing Forgiveness is very important in life. Without the act of forgiving then we would not have been able to receive the free gift of salvation. When Jesus Christ died on that Cross it was God’s way of saying he forgives us off all the sin that was being committed. Forgiveness not only allows us to start over with one another but it also allows us to start over with God. Without forgiveness our relationships with God and with other people would be just non-existing.
